I’ve held onto the supplies from the day Mathew Berry tortured and killed my dog Kirby for almost five years now.
And now, today, just now, I said goodbye to them and threw them away.
I said goodbye to the choke collar he used to torture Kirby. The one where that morning, he saw it as I tried to hide it and said “oh we can make use of this.” And then he did.
I threw away the blue medical gloves Mathew wore as he treated Kirby.
The thermometer. The gauze. The prescriptions and bottles of pills. The vet invoices. Even the leaves that were stuck in the gauze were still in that bag almost five years later.
I’ve held onto these things for so long and now, with Court done, it’s time to say goodbye to those things.
Kirby is so much more than those supplies used in his torture. And now, we’re free of them.
